Immeasurably More

It's hard to believe I really am here - so very close to the moment I will get to hold my very own book in my hands! It really is a testimony of God's goodness and grace in my life. When I was a child, I only ever dreamed of becoming two things - a mom and an author. As time passed and reality sank in I let go of the latter dream. It felt like a far away, unachievable one. I didn't bother pursuing it. Instead, I sat in the quiet corners of my house and wrote pages of words that would never see the light of day.

Here's the thing about God. Impossible is not in His vocabulary. He's known for doing immeasurably more than what we could ever ask for or imagine (See Ephesians 3:20). So why do we stop believing it? For me, I gave up my dream of writing before I ever even really tried.

Is there a dream God put on YOUR heart that you haven't dared step into for fear of failing?

I get it. It's scary to step out. It requires risk, faith, trust, courage, and boldness. But you can be sure that if God's the One who called you, He will make a way to get you where He wants you. The path that has led me here has been far from an easy road.

Let's be real. I didn't dare imagine I'd be left reeling and devasted after I was pushed out the doors of the ministry I served in for three years. But I also didn't anticipate that after this experience God would once again spark that desire in me to write my story. This time - for the world to see. God took me on a journey through broken dreams and relationships, disappointment, an identity crisis, and a questioning of my life's purpose. In the mess of all that was when God told me to pick up my pen again and write.

I didn't know what to expect when God told me to write "God's Not Done With You Yet." But I took a little step of faith by starting somewhere and through many more small steps, by God's grace, here I am today! Living out the God sized dream He laid on my heart as a young child.

The road to following God's call on our individual lives is not always a clear direction, or a smooth journey. It's just about walking out, one step at a time, trusting the God who sees all to direct our path as we go.

What's that one step God has called you to take?

There may be dreams, desires, passions, or giftings that God has given you that are lying dormant. Perhaps God is calling you to step out and into all He has for you today. While it's easier to hide (trust me, I know) we are not called to shrink back. We are called to step out boldly and be the light on the hill. God has a plan and a purpose for your life. You don't need to write a book, start a business, get married, pursue an education, or any other number of things to make a mark in this world.

Don't forget that God has given you unique giftings, skills, and passions. What has God put in your hands? There's nothing more powerful than utilizing what God has given you.

Dare to dream of what God could do in and through you when you simply say "yes."
